See All ReviewsWe love soul food and have eaten at most of the "go to" spots in SA so when we got that craving today we were on a mission to try something different and I'm so glad we did. This location is off the beaten path for sure but well worth the drive and so inviting once you arrive. Friendly people, great service, and some of the best soul food we have had anywhere. Oxtails were literally the best I've had and the fried chicken was on point ... piping hot, crispy, juicy, and so full of flavor. Mash potatoes, macaroni, dressing, and yams were top notch ... everything was fresh, from scratch, and just like momma made it. Only regret I have is that I was too full to try the greens. I highly reccomend this spot for delectable soul food and that family feel. It will definitely be my top choice from now on.
Some of the best Oxtails I’ve had! The green beans and collards were outstanding. I highly recommend Honey’s if you are in the mood for good food and good company.
Found this place on Google. It's not to far from us. The food appears to be cooked in a food trailer, but there's seating inside and it's where you order. It's a makeshift restaurant, so to speak. The menu is written on a big white dry erase board, away from the counter. The food was okay. It wasn't hot and some of it was cold. It was stated the fried chicken pieces were wings, but when the order was brought out, it was all legs, no wings. The portions are standard portions for a styrofoam to go tray. The inside is spacious, but outdated. There's pool tables, TVs, a projector, and slot machine. They have speakers and a patron, possibly a family member, played music from her phone. It's plenty of seating outside too. I can check this place off my list at least. Most likely won't be returning, just wasn't my cup of tea.
